Jueves 20 de Abril de 2023

It will apply for Echoes of Uxmal and for Steps of Light of Dzibilchaltún

Mérida, Yucatán, April 20, 2023. In order to promote national and local tourism, Cultur launches, from this Friday, a temporary promotion in the audio-light shows Ecos de Uxmal and Pasos de Luz, in Dzibilchaltún.

Tickets are normally priced at $ 719 in both cultural events and will be, with this transitory promotion, $ 599 for nationals and $ 449 for Yucatecans in Ecos de Uxmal and $ 499 for tourists from the interior of the country and $ 399 for locals in the case of Pasos de Luz. The price of $ 719 will be maintained in the case of those who visit us outside of Mexico.

Those interested can buy their tickets online on the culturyucatan.com page. And it is important to emphasize that, to avoid misunderstandings, in all cases it will be necessary for tourists who take advantage of this promotion to identify themselves, to confirm their place of origin when accessing the corresponding site.

Although the system will indicate them, it should be noted that in the case of Ecos de Uxmal the show is not projected on Mondays and Thursdays, and in Dzibilchaltún they rest on Mondays and Wednesdays.

As for the Kukulkan Nights show, which for now is only being screened from Friday to Sunday, the price of $708 remains the same for everyone. However, on Sunday a special price of $450 is also offered for national and local tourism.

With this measure Cultur makes an effort so that, now that the high season has just ended, tourists continue to access the cultural services we offer in the aforementioned archaeological zones.

"Sacred puppy" from Chichén has found a home: "He will be a child of the house," says his new owner

Cultur makes a call for the adoption of the other 3 puppies and their mother who are still waiting
Miércoles 13 de Marzo de 2024

Mérida, Yucatán, March 13, 2024. One of the five sacred puppies of Kukulkán (four puppies and the mother), which were rescued by Cultur last January, was adopted today.

The little animal was delivered to his new owner, Javier Méndez Zapata, who lives in Col. Carranza in this city, by Lourdes Durán Leal, president of the Centro de Orientación Perpopolis.

"He will be a child of the house and will be well taken care of," expressed the adopter who showed great happiness to have a new member in his home, whom he will now call "Blue" - at the vet they temporarily named him "jamoncillo" to identify him from the others.

As reported, last January Cultur rescued the mentioned puppies as part of the "Operation Rescue Puppies of Kukulkán," and as always, the institution made them available to the Planned Pethood veterinary clinic, where they were attended to by health professionals. They have all been dewormed, sterilized, and received their first vaccine.

It is important to emphasize the role that corresponds to each of the parties: Cultur rescues the animals, the veterinary clinic attends to them and provides all necessary health services, and the animal protection association, which acts as a temporary home, is responsible for investigating the adopters to ensure a responsible delivery.

Three puppies and their mother are still waiting for adoption! Adopt them!

Having said that, it is important to emphasize that three puppies of approximately three months old (two females and one male) and their mother are still waiting to be adopted. The mother is extremely docile and friendly but also defends her space, so she will be a protective factor for whoever decides to adopt her.

Mauricio Díaz Montalvo, general director of Cultur, called on people to adopt these puppies that will bring joy into their lives. "I am sure you will be delighted with these puppies or with the mother, who has perfect coexistence with people," he noted.

Where can you call to request them for adoption?

Those interested can call the following numbers: 9991 523073 or 9991 832064. The requirements are: commitment to responsible ownership of the animal and providing them with a suitable enclosed and roofed space so they don't escape.

Cultur: El Corchito is now officially a '100% Smoke-Free and Emission-Free Space

It's already the fourth one: the other 3 are the Siglo XXI, the Chichén Inn, and the Meteorite Museum
Jueves 22 de Febrero de 2024

Mérida, Yucatán, February 22, 2023. The tourist stop "El Corchito," located in Progreso and managed by Cultur, received today the recognition from the Yucatán Health Services (SSY) as a "100% Smoke-Free and Emission-Free Space."

As reported, this is the fourth distinction that Cultur has achieved, previously obtaining it for the Yucatán Siglo XXI Convention Center, the Chichén Itzá stop, and the Meteorite Museum, also in Progreso.

In a simple event held at the Dzibilchaltún Room of the Siglo XXI, Ms. Mariana Rodríguez Molina, Subdirector of Mental Health at SSY, handed over the corresponding document to the General Director of Cultur, C.P. Mauricio Díaz Montalvo.

During the event, Rodríguez Molina expressed that discussing smoking and its effects always involves referring to serious statistics for health, as science and all modern medicine have shown that "smoking seriously deteriorates health."

Therefore, she added, we are very happy to be here today because Cultur is promoting health promotion through concrete actions so that the buildings it manages are healthier public spaces.

Díaz Montalvo thanked the staff of El Corchito for their effort in obtaining the mentioned distinction for the benefit of the people who work there and the tourists who visit this tourist spot.

"We all understand that we are responsible for ensuring that our recognized buildings remain smoke and emission-free and, if necessary, we can rely on security personnel or the corresponding authorities when we see someone smoking or vaping," he pointed out.

The process

To achieve this recognition, at least 80% of El Corchito's employees received a training session about the damage caused to health by any type of emission and how to act to prevent it in public spaces. Then a "buttathon" (butt collection) was carried out to clean up these polluting effects from the surroundings.

During the event, it was noted that so far Cultur has conducted four "buttathons" as part of the process to obtain recognition. At Siglo XXI, 12,900 residues were collected; at the Chichén Itzá stop 5,125; at the Meteorite Museum 3,750; and at El Corchito 1,5625. In total, they add up to 23,300 butts contaminating the soil and subsoil.
