Miércoles 19 de Abril de 2023

It received more than 226,000 visitors; in Chichen came 49% of the grand total

Mérida, Yucatán, April 19, 2023. During the Easter holidays, which began on Saturday 1 and ended on Sunday 16 ppdo., Cultur registered an influx in the service units of a total of 226,331 visitors.

The five most visited sites, from highest to lowest, were as follows:

Chichen Itza received 111,714 tourists, representing 49% of the grand total; followed by Pasaje Picheta with 26,001 (11%); Uxmal 19,950 (9%); El Corchito 14,774 (7%), the Zací Artisan Market in Valladolid, 9,966 (4%).

It should be noted that the Meteorite Museum, although it was not among the "top five" previously indicated, almost tied with Zací since it had an influx of 9,895, that is, just 71 less than the former.

It should be noted that these figures are the result of the influxes registered in 13 service units and four audio light shows. Due to various circumstances, three tourist inns, Lol Tún, Balamcanché and Uaymitún were closed, as well as the video mapping known as Noches de Kukulkán, which recently resumed its activities last weekend.

Among all the other paradores and video mappings that are working, an influx of 43,906 visitors (19%) was obtained. Among these, always from highest to lowest, are Ek Balam, the cenotes of X'Kekén and Samulá in Dzitnup, Celestún, Dzibilchaltún, Chocholá, Casa Manzanero, and the night shows of Nights of the Heroic Valladolid, Echoes of Uxmal and Steps of Light of Dzibilchaltún.

It should be noted that during Holy Week -from April 3 to 9-, in which a record of 111,965 was reported, the "ranking" was practically the same: Chichén Itzá with 55,337 of that total (49%); Pasaje Picheta, 12,287 (11%); Uxmal, 10,127 (9%); Corchito, 7,571 (7%) and Museo del Meteorito, 4,773 (4%). As can be seen, in this period the Museum of the Meteorite without was among the five most visited. Among all the other paradores and video mapping that are open, the capacity was 21,870 (20%).
