Located 36 kilometers from Mérida, on the Víctor Manuel Cervera Pacheco Boulevard in the municipality of Progreso, is one of the most important natural reserves of the Yucatecan coast, “El Corchito”.
To enter the reserve, visitors must board a boat in the tourist center to cross through beautiful mangroves that inside guard this wonderful place.
In the reserve you can enjoy the crystal clear waters of the "Cenote Ferns", "Cenote Deer" and the "Cenote Birds", as well as two fresh wáter springs, where visitors can cool off.
Through its trails and mangroves you can observe the diverse fauna composed of fish, raccoons and coatis. We can also find that much of the flora is composed of cork trees, which give rise to the name of the place.
For the comfort and rest of the visitors, the reserve is equipped with tables, benches and palapas.
To contribute to the care of the environment, the tourist center uses solar panels.
